book review: Cupcakes, Trinkets and Other Deadly Magic

Ms Doidge has taken one of the newly popular tales of witches with cooking talents into a different direction than most. This story starts out like a lot of the light and fun paranormal mysteries with a main character who doesn’t really know her magic. As the story develops we get werewolves and vampires and murder most foul.

Unlike some of the reviews on this book I found it charming and fun. There are enough twists and turns that it is not at all boring. While I knew who our villain was long before our heroine did, that simply was because I write enough to know where things are going.

This is a highly fun little book and well worth a look at its free pricing. The beginning of an interesting mix of characters, cooking and magic.
