Movie review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them

The newest of JK Rowling’s stories, this movie is definitely for an older cast. The hero is not a kid, but a gentle man who loves all the odd creatures of the magical world.

The effects are amazing, the creatures are stunning and the story is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed watching this and realize that this would be the film for the adult fans of the Harry Pottter world. The kids who grow up reading this books are now adults and need a much more adult story.

The hero is 18 at the end…he’s not a kid. It’s a coming of age study.

And Fantastic Beasts, as dark as it is, is not a more adult story. In fact, it has far more outright humorous moments than Potter was ever known for, and, while being a rather dark film, it certainly isn’t as dark or questionable in terms of content as many of the Harry Potter films were.
