book review: Silent Circle

This YA adult novel by Ms Larsen is a great start to a new series. Written in first person and present tense takes a little away from the power of this story. The characters are rich and developing nicely with a lot of room to grow.

While our heroine is almost typically brash in this book. She is very emotional and only slowly starts to learn to control those emotions. Once she learns that what she believes is true is shaken a bit I can see her growing into a strong and powerful woman.

The hints we have of how the witch clans are set up is an interesting twist on fictional witches. I would recommend reading this book for anyone from the ages of 14 and up.
